What is a Vehicle Wrap?

A vehicle wrap is one or more large vinyl decals that are installed directly over the original paint on a vehicle. The purpose of the Wrap is to allow you to change the vehicle’s appearance, either slightly or dramatically, in a very short period of time. The vehicle may be returned to its original condition, if desired, with relative ease.

A vehicle Wrap is an expression of you for everyone to see. So whether you want to convey your personal style or advertise your company – your message will be creative, loud, and clear. Did you know that one Wrapped vehicle can generate 30,000 to 70, 000 impressions per day?! Imagine what that can do for your business. This is about getting you noticed. This is about potential customers seeing and remembering you above all of your competition.

Dependant on the complexity of the graphics desired, the effect of the installation may be that of having your vehicle wallpapered. There are techniques for handling such areas as windows and some extreme curves or body shapes. These techniques may include but are not limited to patches, relief cuts, and overlays. It is best to address these issues during the design phase.

A Wrap does not cover 100% of any vehicle because of adhesion constraints on certain materials or areas. Items such as emblems, door handles, hinges, rubber, moldings, exhaust areas, and weather stripping will not be wrapped to prevent material failure. Pgh Auto Wraps and Palmer Products Company use the highest quality materials and inks for our Wraps. These products are designed for outdoor use and have UV properties to help protect against fading and cracking over time. There are different types of materials that can be used based on the use of the vehicle. We are happy to help you select the right application for your needs.(Back to Top)

Will the Wrap damage my paint underneath?

We use only the finest High Performance Vinyl and it is designed to be removed without damaging the original paint. There is no guarantee or way to know if an aftermarket paint job will be damaged upon removal. This is at the owner’s own risk.(Back to Top)

What does it look like?

Almost anything you want! A Wrap is more cost effective than a custom paint job and offers more alternatives, detail, and impact. It will look as good or better than a brand new car and will stay that way for up to 5 full years depending on you’re care and the climate.(Back to Top)

What can I put on my Wrap?

You can incorporate any designs, artwork or photos you desire. We are not responsible for trademark or copyright infringement. We will not print any obscene or lewd graphic or image.(Back to Top)

What is the resolution of a Wrap?

How long does it take for my Wrap to be installed?

A complete Wrap will usually take no longer than a day or two and a partial Wrap can be done in a matter of hours. (Back to Top)

Can I install a Wrap myself?

Professional installation is always highly recommended when you are considering custom graphics but there are certainly instances when, depending on your skill level in working with vinyl applications, some decals may be applied by the customer. You can click here to see our installation instructions. These may give you an idea of whether or not this would be a job you would want to take on.

Remember, although the decals are repositionable, there is a short window of opportunity and specific techniques for doing so. Many people have installed bumper stickers and maybe even some small graphics such as bullet holes but a Wrap is a little more technically demanding and could be damaged or ruined if not installed properly. Proper installation is also key to validating your warranty and ensuring the long life of the Wrap.

We want to make sure that your graphics complement your vehicle and your style when the project is complete. (Back to Top)

How much does a Wrap cost?

This is a great question and unfortunately can be a little difficult to answer. Price can vary greatly depending upon the complexity of the graphics and the installation. Very generally speaking a partial Wrap can run anywhere between $200 - $3000 and a full Wrap can start at about $3000. We always work closely with our customers during the design process in order to ensure an accurate price quote. (Back to Top)
